Koskina is a small rural village in a quiet location, situated in south central Evia, Koskina is close to the wild bird sanctuary at Lake Distos and is some 30 minutes from the small of Styra where the ferries arrive from Agia Marina on the mainland after a short crossing of 45 minutes. Close to the village are two beautiful small bays which are quiet even in the height of summer and which are ideal for swimming and snorkelling. Life in Koskina centres around the village square. It has two tavernas, a cafe and a small supermarket. The nearby town of Aliveri has all main shopping facilities including supermarkets, banks, chemists and medical services. This is a quiet, peaceful location where often the only sounds are the braying of a donkey and the bells of the goats. It is an ideal location either for a holiday home or a permanent residence. Being the second largest of the Greek islands, Evia without an airport has not suffered from the package tourism trade, it is however easily accessible with a regular daily ferry service from the mainland to Styra and the internation airport is only a 45 minutes’ drive to the ferry terminal at Agia marina and the journey to Styra takes another 45 minutes.
